Description: The purpose of this solicitation is to fund a design-build competition that will challenge multi-disciplinary project teams to design and build a mixed-use development—using cutting-edge energy technologies, tools and construction practices—that is affordable, equitable, emissions-free and resilient to climate change impacts and extreme weather events. This solicitation will be conducted as a two-phase design-build competition. Up to 12 teams (up to three teams from each of the four regions) will be selected for the Design Phase. Up to four teams (one from each region) will advance to the Build Phase. Award: Up to $12M (divided amongst 12 teams) available for the Design Phase and an additional $36M available for the Build Phase contingent up on approval of the CEC’s 2021-2025 EPIC Investment Plan.

Eligibility: The Concept Application of this solicitation is open to all entities with the exception of local publicly owned electric utilities. Please see solicitation for full eligibility requirements.
