ACT on Health Equity Community Solutions Challenge

Description: The ACT on Health Equity Community Solutions Challenge is designed to support non-profit organizations positively impacting the health of underserved populations through regional and local community-based programming. Applications will be accepted in two categories: 1) community health and wellbeing [community-based programs to improve conditions that affect health and well-being (e.g., housing, education, environmental/neighborhood safety, nutrition, access to care) and programs that prioritize the social, cultural, and linguistic needs of underserved patients, caregivers and families]; and 2) youth STEM education and career readiness (programs to build knowledge and skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math among K-12 or undergraduate students.

Award: Up to $25,000 over a one-year period.

Eligibility: Open to all eligible 501(c)(3) organizations in the U.S. delivering regional and local community-based programming, including local chapters of national organizations.

Community Process Makers Program

Description: Program was launched in 2015 to provide unrestricted grant support to community change agents working to catalyze economic opportunities for underserved communities across the United States. In 2021, the foundation committed an additional $25 million in a third iteration of the program in support of local community organizations that are advancing racial equity by breaking down silos and connecting Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) to greater social and economic opportunity across the United States. Priority will be given to organizations that support the BIPOC community through the following focus areas: affordable housing and access, environmental sustainability, economic development, financial health and wellness, social justice, workforce readiness, and family-sustaining employment. The Citi Foundation will host two live sessions on June 23 and 30 at 2 pm ET to answer questions. Register here

Award: Unrestricted grant support of $500,000 over two years as well as have access to technical assistance from national experts and an opportunity to participate in a learning community with fellow program participants

Eligibility: Applicants must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, have a federal employer identification number, and be located and working in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Washington, D.C.

Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program

Description: Program furthers the goals of the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32) and provides environmental services and cost-effective solutions to the needs of urban communities and local agencies. Benefits of the projects include reduced greenhouse gas emissions, increased water supply, clean air and water, reduced energy use, flood and storm water management, recreation, urban revitalization, improved public health, and producing useful products such as biofuel, clean energy, and job creation. These grants are designed to assist communities to create or implement multi-benefit projects with a focus on environmental, economic and social benefits to urban communities with an emphasis on disadvantaged and low-income communities. Project types include Urban Forest Expansion and Improvement; Urban Forest Management Activities; and Urban Forestry Education and Workforce Development. See grant guidelines for full details. Award: $150,000 – $1,500,000

Eligibility: Applying organization must be one of the following: a city, a county, a qualifying district or a non-profit organization as classified under Section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All projects shall be designed to further the goals of the California Urban Forestry Act of 1978. Project area must be in an urban area or immediately adjacent to an urban area. Projects must show that they have authentically engaged the local community to develop the project. All grant types require a cost share rate of 75/25. Community-Based Archive Grants

Description: Program provides direct support to community-based archives that represent and serve communities marginalized due to oppression based on race, ethnicity, national origin, class, gender, sexuality, religion, or ability. For the purposes of this call, community-based archives are defined as collections of materials gathered, collected, and shared primarily by members of a marginalized community to document their collective histories. This year, the Foundation plans to prioritize those applications that are based in community advocacy and archive activation efforts.

Award: $50,000-100,000 grant 

Eligibility: Open to U.S.-based organizations with tax-exempt status as a 501(c) (3) public charity and an established and actively collecting archive (in operation for two or more years) with an annual operating budget between $50,000 and $750,000. New Earth Foundation Grant

Description: New Earth Foundation seeks to fund innovative projects that enhance life on our planet and brighten the future, furthering peace. Smaller, newer 501(c)(3) organizations are the focus of grants given, so that the foundation’s gift can make a more significant contribution to the work of the recipient organization. NEF grants support a wide variety of projects in many fields of endeavor, including but not limited to environmental initiatives that are working to help eliminate pollution and to save the planet’s ecosystems, community efforts that create models of social sustainability, educational innovations that prepare youth to become the socially responsible leaders of the future, and strategies that offer economic improvement and opportunities. NEF particularly appreciates projects that are replicable so that excellent ideas and work can multiply and benefit many.

AWS Imagine Grant Program

Description: Program goal is to empower nonprofit organizations to prioritize technology as a mission-critical component of their projects and provide support for organizations pursuing technology driven goals. They are seeking proposals for pilot projects, proofs of concept, or existing programs that utilize technology in a new or expanded way. There are two award categories: The Go Further, Faster Award will provide support for highly innovative projects that leverage the cloud. These projects will have the potential to produce scaled, repeatable solutions and may impact an entire industry or field. They will be force multipliers for organizations and will include the application of and/or seek integrations with advanced cloud services, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), high performance computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and more. The Momentum to Modernize Award provides support to nonprofit organizations seeking to transform and enhance their core mission operations with technology, many organizations need funding for foundational technology projects, such as migrating servers to the cloud and modernizing new and existing applications.

RJE Sprout Fund

Description: The RJE Sprout Fund was established in 2021 to support artists across the nation with direct funds in order to provide financial means to projects that will be completed within the next 12 months. All artists are encouraged to apply – formally trained, self-taught, and those whose creative work falls outside of traditional forms of art. Artists are also encouraged to apply for funds for projects that involve their communities such as art classes, therapy, outreach, and non-traditional projects.

The Hopper Prize

Description The Hopper Prize is a grant-making institution and digital archiving platform offering a series of individual artist grants on a bi-annual basis. The Hopper Prize was established to provide grants, visibility, and career enhancing validation to artists who demonstrate a serious commitment to their work.

Award: Twelve artists receive funding annually (six in spring, six in fall). Four artists receive $3500 (two in spring, two in fall); and eight artists receive $1,000 (four in spring, four in fall).

Eligibility: Open to all artists age 18 and older working in any media. There are no restrictions on genre, subject matter, or media.
